Here are small things that you can do to prevent you from falling prey to spammers.

1. If you receive messages promising large amounts of money, "MARK IT SPAM" and delete the email. Do not respond with your personal information.

2. Redirect the same message by hitting the reply button, and make the following changes:
If your *****@gmail.com, then remove the domain id, 'gmail.com' from the email id, and overrite with the following domain name, *****@abuse.com.

3. Check privacy policies of the various websites that you have registered with your email addresses.


4. Do not click links that comes as spams or even open such emails messages, as this might make you vulnerable to hackers by revealing your IP address.

5. Always keep your security software updated to prevent spam emails from installing spywares without your knowledge.

6. Beware of fake emails from consultants, banks and diplomatic missions.
