Never feel let down, even if the Indian Rupee value goes down in the stock exchange, there is still something to console you, if you are not active in the stock market. This is the availability of the Rupee font and symbol for use in word editing tools like MS Word, which can be used on par, and like some of the other country's currency symbols like Yen, US Dollar, Euro, Pounds and Cents.
Learning how to get the Rupee symbol font into your word documents is very easy!
Follow these steps and you can now add the Indian Rupee symbol while using Word editors. I will cross link you with the relevant website that gives a step-by-step instruction, which might be more helpful for you to follow, if what I found to work on my computer running on Windows Vista and MS Word 2007, does not work for you!
Foradian technology is the one that provides you with the font and symbol for Indian Rupee. All you need to do is download the font file according to your OS, Windows or Linux. The file is available in the blog of Foradian Technologies to download both the font and a Rupee Fordian keyboard layout. However, I find downloading the font being more useful.
All I had to do was to hit the download link for the Indian Rupee Fordian keyboard layout, and got the whole zipped file downloaded onto the computer. Then I had to get the font installed to find them in my text editor, which is MS Word 2007. I get not to see the Rupee font unless I change the font to Rupee Standard font style, and insert them like how I will do for inserting the US dollar sign or the Euro currency symbol.
Now, I am proud that I got to do something that I can barge with my friends and colleagues who are not tech savvy!
